You don’t have to be an expert baker to make treats during Halloween (I’m certainly not). Sometimes I just use boxed mixes and add my own delicious twist! It’s all about having fun with your creations, experimenting, and spending time with your family/friends. My kids and husband LOVE my version of marble cupcakes, so I decided to make them for Halloween! The kids have fun decorating cupcakes and cookies and helping me bake, so we had a little fun with things this year.
Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/2 box of @simplemills chocolate muffin mix
- 1/2 box of @traderjoes vanilla cake mix
- 2 tbsp of vanilla extract
- 1 container of any frosting you like
- Sprinkles or any decor you’d like
Instructions
Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees.
While that’s warming, follow the package instructions on both packages and make two different batters in two separate mixing bowls.
Spray your muffin pan or cupcake liners with nonstick spray.
First add a generous scoop of the vanilla cup cake batter, then add a scoop of the chocolate batter.
Repeat until your pan is full.
Place in the oven on 350° for 20-25 minutes.
Test doneness with a toothpick.
If the toothpick comes out clean, remove the cupcakes from the oven and place on a cooling rack.
Decorate with your favorite boxed frosting, candies, and enjoy! ?
