OK, so I’m not a baker and I don’t pretend to be. But I am the best damn fake baker if there was one! ? I call it “fake baking” when I use a little boxed help from the store but I make it my own. Growing up in a family that was in the donut business, I’ve always loved creating and trying new flavors with my dad. I would always try to add a healthy twist to all my desserts without sacrificing on flavor. With a little help from @SimpleMills, I was able to create such a yummy treat that you can have for breakfast, or a quick snack. The kids, my sister, and my husband couldn’t get enough! You won’t believe how easy this is! I bet this will become a staple in your home too ?
Recipe
(Gluten Free) Banana Bread Nutella Donuts
Ingredients
- Donuts
- A nonstick donut pan
- Nonstick canola oil spray
- 1 box of @simplemills Banana Bread Mix
- 3 eggs (room temperature)
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1/4 cup canola or vegetable oil
- 1 tsp of ground cinnamon
- 1 mashed very ripe banana (optional)
- Glaze topping
- 2 tbsp of @nutella
- 1/2 tbsp of coconut oil
- 1/4 cup of crushed almonds
Instructions
In a large bowl, start by mixing up your eggs, cinnamon, mashed banana, oil, and water.
Then add your @simplemills banana bread mix and stir everything together making sure the batter doesn’t have lumps.
Spray your donut pan with nonstick spray and pour an even amount into each mold.
Do not fill the donut molds fully to the top to give them some room to expand.
Bake them on 350° for 10 minutes.
Let them rest for about 5 minutes out of the oven before removing from the pan.
In a microwave safe bowl, heat your 2 tbsps of Nutella for 30 seconds only!
Remove promptly and mix 1/2 tbsp of coconut oil in the Nutella.
This will give it a shine and glaze like consistency.
Once the donuts have cooled, dip each one generously in the Nutella glaze and top them with crushed almonds.
