If any of you were wondering how I got my husband to marry me… it was this sandwich. This buffalo chicken sandwich has been a favorite in my family since I was 16. My sisters still request I make this sandwich for them every so often; so I just had to let the cat out of the bag.

The Best Buffalo Chicken Sandwich
Ingredients
- 2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup of @franksredhot sauce
- 1 tbsp of unsalted butter
- 1-2 tbsp of canola oil
- 1/2 - 1 cup of sliced red/yellow/orange bell peppers
- 1/2 - 1 cup of sliced red onion
- 1 tsp of garlic powder
- 1 tsp of paprika
- Salt
- Pepper
- 4-6 slices of provolone cheese
- 1 large soft French bread cut in sandwich sizes
Instructions
Start by heating 1 tbsp of canola oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat
Add your thinly sliced chicken and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder and paprika.
Get a sear on both sides.
Once cooked remove the chicken on a plate and set aside.
In the same pan on medium heat add another tbsp of canola oil and add your onions.
While the onions are cooking, heat a small pot on low heat and add your hot sauce and butter.
Cook on low until the flavors have blended well and add garlic powder to taste.
Once the onions have a bit of color on them, add your bell peppers and add salt and pepper to taste.
Add your chicken back to the pan and coat everything in buffalo sauce and cook a few minutes to blend the flavors together.
Top with slices of provolone cheese and cover your pan to let the cheese melt. Keep the heat on low.
Toast your bread lightly while the cheese is melting.
Once the cheese is melted, place all your sandwich toppings on your bread and serve!
Notes
You can also put some ranch or extra buffalo sauce to top it off.
